![]() I'm coming in on this thread late, but, I really don't think that you should be installing on an external drive. So I tried to continue with instalation and I think about 1 hour and it is still 90%. Had some difficulties with the partitioning - hope that I made it correctly but not sure. Started to install a working version of the linux on 0.5Tb mobile disk. OK, So I got a USB stick, not easyly but somehow managed to install it to load libe linux mint. Or are you wanting to install Linux Mint to the external hard drive? If that is the situation then you will want to get a usb stick or DVD in order to create installation media so you can install Linux Mint on the hard drive. (There are some other methods, but that is the usual way people install Linux Mint.)Īre you wanting to make the entire external hard drive your installation medium? If so, that is rather unusual. You say you downloaded the Linux Mint package and then downloaded Balena, but where did you burn the ISO to an installation medium? You need to create an installation medium, such as usb stick or DVD, in order to install the operating system. The USB is old 1/2 Tb backup hard disk formatted to be empty.I read back through the topic and now I am confused. Levydor wrote: ⤴ Sat 6:07 pmSo how to continue? I just wanted to install linux. ![]()
